Lochinver is a small fishing village in the northwest of Scotland: fishing boats from Scotland and as far away as France and Spain are often seen in and around Lochinver bay and harbour.
Lochinver is surrounded by the stunning and famous mountain range of Quinag, Suilven, Canisp, Cul Mor, Stac Pollaidh and Ben More Assynt. There are an abundance of excellent lochs and rivers around Lochinver and Assynt and nature in abundance with deer, stag and many types of sea birds to name but a few. Assynt, being in the north of Scotland, has an ever changing weather so remember to bring both your wellies and swimming costume with you!
Lochinver has a fantastic selection of quality restaurants and eateries. There are also two bars, two convenience stores, a butcher, a fish vendor, newsagents, tourist office, several crafts shops, a mobile bank service, petrol station, and a police station.
Located on the north coast 500 route, Lochinver is a great place to relax, rest and refuel.
